SC Arbor Day 2010
Arbor Day in South Carolina was celebrated this year at Rosewood Elementary School on December 3rd. Arbor Day in SC is always set to the first Friday in December.
This year an autumn blaze maple was planted on the playground near the cafeteria. The first grade classes were in attendance to witness this event which included a presentation by Renee Culler, former teacher at Rosewood for 28 years. A poem about trees was read and information was given on how valuable trees are to our environment.
As usual, the kids participated in helping plant and fill the hole for the new tree. Over the years this tree can be expected to grow 50' tall and 40' wide. And one day it will be a nice place to relax from the hot sun.
The picture gallery here will highlight the activities of all the participants helping celebrate this SC arbor day 2010.
